  • All athletes and coaches participating in AAU Tournament Series must have active 2018 AAU memberships.

ELIGIBILITY RULES
9U & UNDER DIVISION
An athlete can be no older than 9 on August 31, 2018.
10 & UNDER DIVISION
An athlete can be no older than 10 on August 31, 2018.
11 & UNDER DIVISION
An athlete can be no older than 11 on August 31, 2018.
12 & UNDER DIVISION
An athlete can be no older than 12 on August 31, 2018.
13 & UNDER DIVISION
An athlete can be no older than 13 on August 31, 2018.
14 & UNDER DIVISION
An athlete can be no older than 14 on August 31, 2018.
15 & UNDER DIVISION
An athlete can be no older than 15 on August 31, 2018.
16 & UNDER DIVISION
An athlete can be no older than 16 on August 31, 2018.
17 & UNDER DIVISION
An athlete can be no older than 17 on August 31, 2018.

18 & UNDER DIVISION

An athlete can be no older than 17 on August 31, 2018.

ROSTERS

  • Rosters will need to be submitted before March 5. No player additions can be made after the first game started.
  • A maximum of fifteen (15) athletes and four (2) non-athletes are allowed on a team roster.  All athletes and non-athletes on the roster must be registered AAU Members in the current year.

ATHLETE VERIFICATION
Proof of eligibility must be available for review, by an AAU designee at all AAU licensed competitions. If the documents are not available, the team is subject to removal from the competition. Acceptable documents include any of the following:

  • An unexpired Passport
  • Department of Motor Vehicles I.D. card issued within three (3) years
  • Military Dependent I.D.
  • A certificate of live birth with a raised seal, along with a school issued picture I.D.

PLAYING TIME
Game time is game time! Games will start at their designated times. No earlier, no later. If you are late to your game, your team will forfeit the game.
All age groups will utilize the following playing times:

  • Warm-Up: Minimum 3 Minutes
  • Halves: 20 minutes running clock
  • Halftime: 3 Minutes
  • Last two minute of the second half will be stop clock at 15 points or less.
  • Overtime: 3 Minutes (1 Timeout)
  • Mercy Rule 30 points or Greater during last two minutes game is called. 
  • During game if 15 points or greater clocks run.

Timeouts

4 Timeouts per game. (2-30 Second and 2-1 Minute)

Fouls
Fouls will be six per player and team fouls after 7 will be bonus free throw and after 10 team fouls will be double bonus.
UNIFORMS
Players' jerseys must have numbers on either the front or back, numbers can be 00-99. Teams competing must have LIGHT and DARK jerseys. The “Home” team wears Light jerseys and “Visiting” team wears Dark jerseys. The top/left team on the schedule shall be the home team and sit on the scorekeepers’ left. The bottom/right team on the schedule shall be the visiting team and sit on the scorekeepers’ right. 
MISCONDUCT
AAU has a strict no fighting policy. Any athlete, coach, or fan caught fighting or participating in a physical altercation during Mile High Invitational will automatically be removed from the premises for the remainder of the weekend of play. Further sanctions may be assessed to the athlete or coach at the discretion of the AAU. It is the responsibility of the Coach to control their fans.
Any athlete or coach who receives two (2) technicals during a game will automatically be suspended for their next game of play.
MISCELLANEOUS NOTES

  • Two certified officials will officiate every game.
  • 11U-9U competition will use 28.5 size basketballs and 12U &  UP competition will use 29.5 size basketballs.

​This event is licensed by the Amateur Athletic Union of the U. S., Inc. · All participants must have a current AAU membership. · AAU membership may not be included as part of the entry fee to the event. · AAU membership must be obtained before the competition begins except where the event operator has a laptop available with an internet connect. Participants are encouraged to visit the AAU web site www.aausports.org to obtain their membership.
